Why is professional license verification so hard today?
Because the proof and the register live in different places, and neither is reachable at the moment of the decision. Employers phone boards and wait, licensing bodies lose control of a credential the moment it is printed, licensed professionals carry documents that look exactly like forgeries, and auditors cannot check hundreds of people by hand.

How often is a professional credential verified, and how often is it false?
Often enough to matter, and checked far less often than that. Independent UK research finds that most large employers have caught a false qualification claim, yet only about half verify every credential they are shown, and the rate collapses at smaller organisations. Where a dedicated verification service exists, volume is high.

These figures describe academic credentials, where public research exists. We have found no equivalent published dataset covering occupational licenses across sectors, so we do not quote one. The structural problem is the same: a check that costs effort gets skipped.
How does TRUE make a license verifiable?

Is traditional or blockchain license verification faster?

What happens between issuing a license and verifying it?
