When the graduate shares it. Someone who posts a verifiable diploma is advertising the school that issued it, by name, to everyone who knows them.
That is the third of the three reasons and it is not a footnote. A course listing reaches people who are already searching for a course. A shared diploma reaches the colleagues, classmates and contacts of someone who just finished one, which is a different audience and a warmer one. The document was going to be issued either way. Making it verifiable and worth sharing is what turns a piece of administration into something that comes back.
