Why is a signed PDF alone not enough?
Because a normal e-signature is a claim held in someone else's system. If the vendor closes, loses the audit log or changes its signature policy, the evidence behind the signature goes with it. Anchoring the hash of the sealed document publicly makes the proof independent of any platform, including ours.
An e-signature only lasts as long as the vendor that stored the audit trail. If they close, if they lose the log, if the signature policy quietly changes, your proof is gone with them.
TRUE Sign anchors the hash of the sealed document on blockchain. Anyone can verify the signature and the exact byte-for-byte contents of what was signed, independent of us and independent of any platform.

How often are business documents forged or impersonated?
Often enough that the signature on a document is now the weak point rather than the delivery of it. Business email compromise, where an attacker impersonates a counterparty around contracts, invoices and payment instructions, is the second largest reported loss category in US cybercrime data. Europe is meanwhile moving identity itself onto a regulated footing.
