Membership Organizations

Membership credentials your members are proud to display

A digital membership certificate proves that someone is a member in good standing, and lets anyone check it in seconds by scanning a QR code. TRUE issues those credentials on your own domain, blockchain secured so they cannot be edited, and connects to your membership system so renewals and lapses take care of themselves.

TL;DR

Membership certificates only earn their keep if a third party can check them and a member wants to show them. TRUE issues each credential as a branded digital document on your own domain, with a QR code and a permanent verification URL that displays the member, the membership and its validity. The record is written to a blockchain at issuance, so an edited copy fails the check. A REST API of five endpoints connects TRUE to your CRM or membership database, which means new members, renewals and expiries flow through without a renewal spreadsheet. Because members add the credential to LinkedIn in one click, every share carries your name into their professional network.

  • Members get a credential worth displaying, on LinkedIn, in an email signature or on a site.
  • Anyone can verify membership status by scanning a QR code, with no login and no call to your office.
  • Renewals run through the API, so joining, renewing and lapsing stop being manual work.

Why do membership cards and PDF certificates stop working?

Because neither one can be checked by the person who needs to check it. A plastic card ends up in a drawer, a PDF sits unopened in an inbox and can be edited by anyone with basic software, and a third party who wants to confirm standing has to contact your office and wait. Renewal season then adds a spreadsheet and a chasing campaign on top.

Paper membership cards get lost. PDFs sit in inboxes, unshared and unverified. Renewal season means spreadsheets, manual emails, and chasing lapsed members.

And when a member claims to be in good standing? You either trust them or spend time verifying.

Professional associations, trade bodies and wellness networks all run into the same wall.

Your members have earned their credentials. Give them a document anyone can verify in seconds, rather than a PDF or a plastic card.

How often does anyone check a credential at all?

Less often than most issuers assume, and the gap is widest at smaller organisations. Independent UK research finds that a large share of employers have caught a false qualification claim while barely half verify every credential they are shown. A membership certificate that verifies itself removes the excuse for skipping the check.

  • 45% of large employers have uncovered a false qualification claim, and only 52% verify all academic credentials. Verification falls to 37% at medium sized organisations and 29% at small ones. Source: Prospects Luminate, November 2025, from a YouGov survey of 526 HR decision makers conducted 24 to 29 April 2025.
  • 18% of UK adults say they have lied on a CV or job application, or know someone who has, in the past 12 months. Published by Cifas, the UK fraud prevention service, on 3 February 2025, from an Opinion Matters survey of 2,000 UK adults.
  • 7,326 membership documents issued through the TRUE API by Friskvårdsföretagen, also known as Active Sweden. Annual renewals for wellness businesses that previously needed manual processing now run automatically. This figure is TRUE platform data.

The first two numbers describe why a claimed membership is worth checking. The third shows what it costs an association to make checking possible, which is one integration.

What does a digital membership credential do differently?

It carries its own proof and its own audience. The credential is blockchain secured at issuance and verifiable by QR code, so standing can be confirmed without you, and it is built to be shared, so the member displays it rather than filing it.

TRUE issues digital membership credentials that cover the whole cycle, from the member sharing one to the renewal issuing itself.

How does membership credential issuing work end to end?

In five steps, and only the first one needs setting up. You connect your membership system, design the credential, and from then on joining or renewing issues a document automatically, the member shares a link rather than a file, and a verifier scans a QR code to confirm standing.

From connection to member shares in five steps.

A link, not a file. Share on LinkedIn, embed in emails, display on websites. Every share includes your branding.

Verify instantly

Anyone verifies membership status in seconds by QR code or link, with no calls to your office and no PDF checks.

Why do membership organisations choose TRUE?

For four reasons that come up in almost every conversation: members who share become advocates, renewals stop being manual, the analytics show which credentials get used, and a blockchain record makes a claimed membership checkable rather than trusted.

Member engagement

Members who share their credentials become your advocates. Each LinkedIn post, email signature, or website badge introduces your organisation to new audiences.

Renewal automation

Connect TRUE to your membership system via API and renewals issue automatically. Expired memberships can be deactivated. No more manual renewal campaigns.

Real analytics

Know which credentials are being shared, where, and by whom. Understand your most engaged members and track the marketing reach of your program.

Blockchain security

A claimed membership is only worth what a third party can confirm. TRUE's blockchain verification means anyone can check membership status in seconds.

Your brand, not ours

Credentials live on your domain. Your members share a page that reflects your organisation rather than a third party platform.

What does a shared membership credential do for the organisation?

It puts your name in front of a professional network you did not have to buy access to. When a member posts the credential on LinkedIn, your logo and brand travel with it, and the verification page it links to sits on your own domain.

When a member shares their TRUE credential on LinkedIn, your organisation's name, logo, and brand reach their entire professional network. Your membership programme is a marketing channel as well as a service to members.

Is a PDF card or a TRUE membership certificate easier to verify?

The TRUE certificate, because verification is built into the document rather than bolted onto your office hours. A PDF has to be believed or checked with you by hand, while a TRUE credential answers the question itself through a QR scan.

What do associations ask about digital membership certificates?

Four questions come up more than any others: how this differs from a PDF card, whether renewals can be automated, what a third party has to do to verify, and whether the credential can carry the association's own branding.

Common questions from associations and member organisations evaluating digital certificates.

How are TRUE membership certificates different from PDF cards?

TRUE certificates are blockchain-anchored at issuance, producing a tamper-proof fingerprint. They live on your custom domain, can be added to LinkedIn with one click, and remain verifiable indefinitely. PDFs can be edited and forged in seconds, get lost, and add no visibility for your organisation.

Can we automate annual membership renewals?

Yes. The REST API connects directly to your membership database or CRM. New members receive certificates automatically; renewals trigger updated certificates with new expiry dates. Revoked memberships immediately reflect in the verification status.

How does verification work for a third party?

Anyone can verify a member by scanning the certificate's QR code or opening its URL. The verification page shows membership details confirmed against the blockchain record. No login, no app, no contact-the-association step. Works in any country.

Can certificates be branded with our association's identity?

Fully. Every certificate carries your branding, logo, and design, on your own custom domain. When members share certificates on LinkedIn, every share drives traffic and brand recognition back to your association.

How many employers verify the credentials they are shown?

Only 52% of large employers verify all academic credentials, falling to 37% at medium sized organisations and 29% at small ones, according to Prospects Luminate research published in November 2025, from a YouGov survey of 526 HR decision makers. A credential that verifies by QR code removes the effort that stops the other half.

What do TRUE customers say about their credentials?

Two customers who issue credentials to people outside their own organisation, one an accredited academy and one a municipality running a public hackathon.

“Thanks TRUE! Incredible to work with you to realise our fully accredited NED Academy Certificates!”
Roei Samuel, CEO, Connectd
“Amazing. I tip my hat for your design TRUE! It was really fun to be able to give blockchain-secured diplomas to the winners of HACK FOR SÖDERTÄLJE. This is the next level!”
Anthony Mccarrick, Digitization Strategist, Södertälje Kommun
