LMS Integration

Issue a certificate the moment a course is completed

Connect your learning management system to TRUE and the certificate issues itself. A learner meets your completion criteria, your LMS fires one API call, and a branded, blockchain secured credential reaches their inbox within seconds. No export, no template, no waiting for an administrator to get to it.

TL;DR

LMS certificate integration means your learning platform triggers the credential instead of a person. TRUE connects to Canvas, Moodle, Learnster or any system that can make an HTTP request, through a REST API of five endpoints. You define what counts as completion, a passing grade, an attendance threshold or a finished module, and the certificate issues the moment a learner meets it. The learner gets a branded credential on your own domain with a QR code and a permanent verification URL, so an employer can confirm it in seconds without contacting you. Setup is a configuration task for your LMS administrator rather than an IT project.

  • Connect the LMS to TRUE through five REST endpoints, or use a native integration for Canvas, Moodle or Learnster.
  • Set the trigger that fires a certificate: course completion, a passing grade or an attendance threshold.
  • The credential issues itself, branded, blockchain secured and verifiable by QR code on your own domain.

Why does certificate delivery still take days?

Because the LMS stops at the completion record and a person takes over from there. Someone exports a list, drops the names into a template, checks the spelling and emails a batch of PDFs, which is why credentials arrive days or weeks after the learner earned them. The completion data your LMS already holds is enough to issue the certificate on its own.

Your LMS handles enrolments, content, and grading. But when it comes to certificates, most organisations hit the same wall.

Batch processing

Someone exports a list, builds certificates in a template, and sends them out days later. Sometimes weeks.

Manual data entry

Names get misspelled. Dates are wrong. Someone gets the wrong certificate. Corrections pile up.

PDF Attachments

Learners receive a flat file that's impossible to verify and easy to forge. It sits in a downloads folder, forgotten.

No visibility

Once a PDF is sent, you have no idea if it was opened, shared, or used as a professional credential.

The irony? Your LMS already knows who completed the course and when. It just can't do anything useful with that information. TRUE Original fixes that.

How do you connect an LMS to TRUE?

In three steps, and none of them need a development project. Your LMS administrator links the environment to TRUE through the REST API, defines the event that should fire a certificate, and from then on the platform issues credentials without anyone touching them.

Connecting TRUE to your LMS is straightforward. No IT project. No lengthy procurement.

1

Connect your LMS

Link your Canvas, Moodle, or Learnster environment to TRUE Original using our REST API, just 5 simple endpoints. Your IT team or LMS administrator sets it up once.

2

Set the trigger

Define what fires the certificate: course completion, a passing grade, attendance threshold, whatever your programme requires. When a learner meets the criteria, the process starts automatically.

3

Certificates issue themselves

The learner receives a branded, blockchain-secured credential, delivered instantly by email with a unique shareable link. No human intervention required.

Which learning management systems does TRUE work with?

Canvas, Moodle and Learnster have direct integrations, and everything else connects through the REST API. If your platform can send an HTTP request when a learner completes something, it can issue TRUE certificates, so a custom or in house system is not a blocker.

TRUE integrates with the learning management systems that power education and corporate training across Europe and beyond.

Canvas LMS

The most widely adopted LMS in higher education and vocational training. TRUE connects directly to Canvas through API triggers, issuing credentials when courses are marked complete.

Moodle

The world's most popular open-source LMS. Moodle's flexible architecture pairs naturally with TRUE's API. Set your completion criteria and the platform handles the rest.

Learnster

Built for corporate L&D and employee onboarding. TRUE integrates with Learnster to deliver certificates the moment compliance training, skill development, or onboarding modules are finished.

Custom LMS or proprietary platform?

TRUE's REST API (5 endpoints) works with any system that can make an HTTP call. If your platform tracks completion events, it can trigger TRUE. No pre-built connector required.

What does a learner receive when the certificate issues automatically?

A branded, animated credential on your own domain, delivered by email within seconds of completion. It carries a QR code and a permanent verification URL, so anyone can confirm it without contacting you, and it goes onto a LinkedIn profile in one click.

Every certificate issued through TRUE is more than a confirmation. It is a professional credential your learners will use.

  • Beautifully designed. Animated, branded and interactive, not a static PDF. It looks like something worth sharing.
  • A shareable link. One URL that works in an email signature, a portfolio or a personal site.
  • QR code verification. An employer, a client or a regulatory body scans the code and confirms the credential instantly.
  • LinkedIn ready. Learners add the credential to their profile in one click, which puts your name in front of their network.
  • Blockchain secured. Written to blockchain at issuance, so it cannot be edited, forged or backdated.
“A clear advantage of our new digital certificates is how easily they can be added as a reference to LinkedIn or a digital CV. The ease of use and verifiability creates trust!”
Lina Fjäll, Chief Customer Officer, Astrakan

How many learners sit inside the systems this connects to?

Hundreds of millions, across a handful of platforms. Moodle alone reports more than half a billion users on registered sites, and Coursera reports 197 million registered learners. The weak link is not the volume of course completions, it is that most employers never check the credential that comes out of them.

  • 523,962,591 users across 147,464 registered Moodle sites in 236 countries. Live figures published by Moodle on stats.moodle.org, read 26 July 2026. Registration is voluntary, so the real total is higher.
  • 197 million registered learners on Coursera as of 31 December 2025. Reported by Coursera in its fourth quarter and full year 2025 results, published 2026.
  • Only 52% of large employers verify every academic credential they are shown, falling to 37% at medium sized organisations and 29% at small ones. Source: Prospects Luminate, November 2025, from a YouGov survey of 526 HR decision makers conducted 24 to 29 April 2025.

A certificate that verifies itself closes that gap without asking the employer to do more work. The rest of this page covers how the issuing side is wired up.

How much has TRUE issued through integrations like this?

More than 500,000 documents for over 200 organisations in 15 or more countries, and shared credentials from those issuers have produced over 100 million marketing impressions. These are TRUE platform figures, not third party research.

500K+ Documents issued

200+ Organisations

15+ Countries

100M+ Marketing impressions

What changes for the organisation issuing the certificates?

The administrative work disappears and the credential starts doing something after it is sent. Certificates issue without staff time, they carry your brand on your own domain, and the analytics show when each one is opened, shared and verified.

Automating certificate delivery isn't just about saving time (though it does that too). It changes how credentials work for your business.

Zero manual administration

Stop exporting names from spreadsheets and emailing PDF attachments. Certificates handle themselves.

Instant delivery

Learners receive their credential within seconds of completion, not days or weeks.

Marketing value

When learners share their TRUE credential on LinkedIn or embed it on a website, they drive traffic and brand exposure back to you. TRUE issuers have generated 100M+ marketing impressions and €9.5M+ in marketing value.

Blockchain proof

Every certificate is written to blockchain (Ethereum, AVAX, Fantom, or Polygon). Tamper-proof. Permanently verifiable.

Real analytics

See when certificates are opened, where they're shared, and how often they're verified. Know the impact of every programme you run.

Your brand, your domain

Certificates live on your own custom domain, not on TRUE's website. Your brand stays front and centre.

What do LMS administrators ask about certificate integration?

Mostly three things: whether their platform is supported, how long setup takes and what learners have to do to receive a credential. The short answers are any platform that can call an API, days rather than months, and nothing at all.

Does TRUE integrate directly with Canvas LMS?

Yes. TRUE connects to Canvas through our REST API. When a learner completes a course in Canvas, the API trigger fires and a certificate is issued automatically. Your Canvas administrator can set this up.

How long does integration take?

The API integration itself is straightforward, 5 REST endpoints. Most organisations are live within days, not months. The timeline depends on your internal processes, not ours.

Do learners need a TRUE account to receive their certificate?

No. Learners receive their credential via email with a unique link. No login, no account creation, no app download. They click the link and see their certificate immediately.

Can we customise the certificate design?

Absolutely. Every certificate is fully branded to your organisation: your logo, colours, layout, and domain. TRUE certificates are animated and interactive, designed to look like something worth sharing.

What does blockchain secured mean?

Each certificate is written to a blockchain (Ethereum, AVAX, Fantom, or Polygon). This creates a permanent, tamper-proof record. No one can edit, forge, or delete the credential after it's issued. Anyone can verify it, forever.

What if our LMS isn't Canvas, Moodle, or Learnster?

TRUE's REST API works with any system that can make HTTP requests. If your LMS or custom platform can trigger an API call on course completion, it can issue TRUE certificates. No pre-built connector needed.

Is there a limit on how many certificates we can issue?

TRUE scales with you. Whether you're issuing 50 certificates a year or 50,000, the platform handles it.

Can learners add certificates to LinkedIn?

Yes, in one click. TRUE certificates are designed to be LinkedIn-ready. When shared, they link back to a verification page on your domain, giving your organisation visibility with every share.

Is manual certificate generation or LMS integration more reliable?

LMS integration, because it removes the two steps where manual issuing breaks: the export and the retyping. A triggered certificate carries the completion data the LMS already verified, and it arrives while the course is still fresh rather than at the end of a batch cycle.

What changes when course completion automatically becomes a verified credential.

What do TRUE customers say about automated certificates?

That the credential gets used. Both quotes below come from TRUE customers in education and professional training, and both point at the same thing: a credential that lives as a link is one recipients put on a profile, which paper and PDF never achieved.
