Shopify Integration

Every product you sell can arrive with a certificate of authenticity

We build and install a TRUE app in your Shopify store. When a customer pays for a product you have marked as certifiable, the app issues a blockchain secured certificate of authenticity for that item and shows it to the buyer on the order page, with a QR code for the physical product. The buyer gets proof at the moment of purchase, and it stays findable long after the packaging is gone.

TL;DR

The app listens for a paid order, checks each item against a rule you set, and issues a TRUE certificate for the items that match. The certificate is built from the product's own facts, so origin, date, grade or serial number come from the fields your store already keeps rather than being typed in again. The buyer sees it on the order status page and in their account, with a link and a QR code, and it is written to blockchain so it cannot be edited or backdated later. Everything is configured in a settings page inside your Shopify admin, and a change takes effect immediately.

  • Built and installed by us. We install the app directly in your store, so there is no listing to find and no configuration for you to work out alone.
  • You choose what certifies. A rule by tag, product type or collection decides which items get a certificate, so gift cards and accessories stay out of it.
  • The buyer sees it at checkout. The certificate appears on the order page with a QR code, not in a separate email they have to go looking for.

How does the Shopify certificate integration work?

Your store already holds everything a certificate of authenticity needs: what was bought, who bought it, and the product facts you keep on the product itself. The app reads those at the moment the order is paid and issues from them, so nothing is retyped and nothing waits for someone to get round to it.

1

We install the app in your store

We build and install it directly, so you do not go looking for a listing or work through a setup on your own. It appears as a page in your Shopify admin like any other app.

2

You set the rule for what certifies

Choose which products get a certificate, by tag, product type or collection, and map the fields the certificate should carry to where your store already keeps them. A preview runs the rule against a real recent order so you can see the result before it is live.

3

Buyers get proof when they pay

As soon as an order is paid, matching items are issued a certificate and the buyer sees it on the order page with a link and a QR code. You can also have it emailed.

What does the certificate carry?

The product's own facts, the buyer, your store and the date it was issued, written to blockchain at the moment of issue so it cannot be edited or backdated afterwards.

  • The item's own details. Origin, date, grade, serial number or anything else you keep on the product, read from your store rather than typed in again.
  • Your organisation. The certificate is branded as yours and lives on your own domain.
  • Date of issue, fixed. Written to blockchain at issuance, which is what makes backdating impossible.
  • A permanent verification link. An employer confirms it by opening the link or scanning the QR code, without contacting you.

What has to be in place before it can be switched on?

A rule for which products certify, the facts you want printed on the certificate, and a design. Nothing needs to be built on your side, and none of it requires a developer.

  • A way to tell certifiable products apart, which is usually a tag, a product type or a collection you already use.
  • The fields you want on the certificate, and where your store keeps them today. If a fact lives on the product, the certificate can carry it.
  • A certificate design, built by us to your graphic profile or adapted by you from an existing template.

What does the buyer receive?

A branded, animated certificate on your own domain rather than ours, shown on the order page as soon as the order is paid. It carries a QR code and a permanent verification URL, so a future buyer, an insurer or a valuer can confirm it without contacting you.

  • Beautifully designed. Animated, branded and interactive rather than a static PDF.
  • A shareable link. One URL that works in an email signature, a portfolio or a CV.
  • QR code verification. An employer, a client or a regulator confirms the credential instantly.
  • LinkedIn ready. Added to a profile in one click, which puts your name in front of their network.
  • Blockchain secured. It cannot be edited, forged or backdated after issue.

How is customer data handled?

The app reads the order it was told about and the product details behind it, which is what a certificate needs to exist. Shopify's own privacy webhooks are wired up, so a customer data request or an erasure request from your store reaches us the way Shopify intends it to.

TRUE is hosted in the EU. The certificate itself lives on your own domain, so the proof a buyer keeps carries your name rather than ours.

How much has TRUE issued for organisations like yours?

More than 500,000 documents for over 200 organisations in 15 or more countries, and credentials shared by their recipients have produced over 100 million marketing impressions. These are TRUE platform figures, not third party research.

Is an order confirmation on its own enough?

It proves a purchase happened in your store, which is enough for a return. What it cannot do is prove the item is what you said it is, years later, to somebody who was not part of the sale.

What do Shopify merchants ask about this?

Mostly how it gets into their store, whether every product is affected, and what the buyer actually sees. We install it, no, and a certificate on the order page.

How do we get the app?

We build and install it in your store directly. That is deliberate: it means the app is set up for how your store is actually organised, rather than you working through a generic setup on your own.

Does every product get a certificate?

Only the ones you choose. A rule by tag, product type or collection decides what certifies, so gift cards, accessories and anything else you leave out are untouched.

Where does the buyer see it?

On the order page as soon as the order is paid, with a link and a QR code, and in their account afterwards. It can be emailed as well if you prefer.

Can one order produce several certificates?

Yes. You choose whether a certificate is issued per item, per unit bought, or one for the whole order.

Where do the details on the certificate come from?

From your store. Each field on the certificate is mapped to where you already keep that fact, so origin, harvest date, grade or serial number are read rather than retyped.

Do buyers need a TRUE account?

No. The certificate is a link. No login, no account and no app.

Can we issue certificates for orders that already shipped?

Yes. Earlier orders can be issued as a batch, so a backlog does not have to be handled by hand.

What does a buyer do with the certificate?

Keep it, and pass it on. It is a link rather than a file, so it survives a resale, and every time it is opened it points back to a verification page carrying your name.

Ready to put a certificate in every order?

We prepare your certificate design, install the app in your store and set the rule with you, and the next paid order can arrive with proof attached.
