TL;DR: Di Close has several thousand members. They start at different points across the year and attend different network days, so no two certificates are alike and there is no single moment when they can all be issued at once. Issuing them by hand would have taken hundreds of hours. Di Close tried that first and had to drop it because it cost too much. With TRUE the certificates are issued automatically, and each one is secured with blockchain so anyone can check it.
Di Close is a Swedish network for managers and executives. In January 2026 it expanded into Norway, according to its own newsroom.
Because they are all different and they are never all due at the same time. Di Close has several thousand members. They start at different points across the year and they attend different network days and lectures, and the certificate records what that one member took part in. So no two certificates are alike and there is no single moment when they can all be issued at once.
That is what makes the manual version expensive. Issuing the certificates by hand would have taken hundreds of hours, and the work has no end date, because there is no batch to process and be done with.
The manual route, and it did not survive. One person worked on the certificates close to full time, all year round, and Di Close abandoned the approach because it cost too much.
“Before TRUE we had tried issuing the certificates manually, all year round. One person worked on it close to full time. We had to stop, because it cost too much. Now it happens automatically.”
Niclas Grewin, CEO, Di Close
That is the part worth sitting with. The work was not skipped and it was not done badly. It was done, by a person, close to full time, and it still did not add up.
Automatically. Di Close issues each certificate itself and TRUE secures it afterwards, and nobody spends a working year on it. In Di Close’s own words: “Every proof is issued by us at Di Close and then secured with blockchain through TRUE.”
The company names both halves of the decision in a single sentence: “To counter forgery and make handling easier, we have invested in secure and verifiable documents generated with the TRUE service.” The handling half is the one that decided it.
A record of the year, not a decoration. “As a Di Close member you receive a certificate each year showing which network days and lectures you have attended during your membership year,” Di Close writes on its own site, in Swedish.
A manager who spends a year in the network ends up with something specific to show for it, listing the days they were actually in the room.
Three, and each one has a job. The digital version sits on a subpage of the Di Close website, where the recipient decides how public it is. The PDF can be downloaded and kept on a hard drive. The paper version is printed on a sheet like any other certificate.
The digital version is the one that carries the proof. The other two point back to it.
It proves the paper matches the record. The PDF and the printed sheet both carry a QR code that any modern phone camera can read. Scanning it opens the blockchain secured digital version on the phone, and the person holding the paper compares the two. If they match, the paper is genuine. If they do not, it has been altered.
It is the second reason, and Di Close is public about it. “There has been a lot written lately about forged documents. We at Di Close care about certificates. They are important documents for our members.” A certificate that anyone can check is worth more than one that has to be taken on trust, and it came with the automation rather than in place of it.
There is a third benefit Di Close names itself: TRUE documents cannot be lost or destroyed, they are always available online. Together that makes them verifiable credentials, proof a third party can confirm without calling the issuer.
Di Close published its own description on 10 April 2024 under the heading “Våra kunskapscertifikat är säkra och verifierbara”, meaning our knowledge certificates are secure and verifiable. The Di Close quotes on this page are translated from it: Di Close on secure and verifiable knowledge certificates. Another TRUE customer automated the same way, through its learning platform: 2Secure.
Because members start at different points across the year and attend different network days and lectures. Each certificate records what one member took part in, so no two are alike and there is no single moment when they can all be issued together.
Cost. One person worked on it close to full time, all year round, and Di Close had to abandon the manual route because it was too expensive. Niclas Grewin, CEO of Di Close, says so directly.
Di Close issues it. In its own words, every proof is issued by Di Close and then secured with blockchain through TRUE. The issuer named on the certificate is the network.
Scan the QR code on the PDF or the printed sheet with a phone camera. It opens the blockchain secured digital version, and you compare that against the document in your hand.
The proof itself is not lost. Di Close notes that TRUE documents cannot be lost or destroyed and are always available online.
Save time, increase traffic and insights and build trust, by upgrading to blockchain secured diplomas and course certificates, which are loved by recipients and always verifiably authentic.
